how to clear stubborn stained mark on mirror (bathroom)?
stubborn marks on mirror cannot be scrubed away, pls help?
Razors work pretty well on some things, but make sure there is no grit on either the razor or the mirror. Razors won't scratch glass, but grit can.
Next you can try these solvents: water, ammonia, bleach (keep bleach away from ammonia!!!), acetone (nail polish remover), paint thinner, mineral spirits, turpentine. If those don't work, try some goof-off available in any hardware store.
Make sure the fan is running or the window is open. The latter cleaners really stink. You can also use a scotch-brite nylon scrubbing pad, but be careful not to catch the frame with it; it's pretty abrasive!
If those don't work, put a little picture or sticker over the stain.
One more thing; if you put the razor on the stain, does it look like the stain is not near the razor? The stain could be on the other side of the glass, and you'll have to live with it. Unless you want to take the mirror out of its frame and try to recondition the backing. In which case, you could just get a new mirror. But if the stain is NOT on the surface of the glass, you won't have to waste your time trying to clean it!
