How to find out the value of coins?
I have hundreds of different coins and assorted forms of currency from my father's old collections. Some are newer and likely worth less than scrap, but some are older or very strange and so I have no idea what they are worth.
What is the best way to find out the value of these coins, since I myself am not a professional in the least!
I've tried browsing for the coins online and in books, but I don't even understand how to judge quality or anything like that..and some of the coins are so weird that I don't know how to even start to look them up. If they're worth anything I'd like to sell them, but my main priority is just getting an idea of the value first!
You did not mention what country the coins are from, but here are some good links. You might have several medallions, tokens, and other items, so you might want to ask a local coin expert some questions. There are coin values books and coin grading books if you are interested.
